Racing Career: Karun competed in the Formula 1 World Championship for HRT and Team Lotus, served as a test driver for Red Bull Racing, and achieved success across Le Mans, Formula E with Mahindra, GT racing, and national championships, including winning the 2000 Indian National Championship. He also serves as a heritage driver for Williams racing, where he tests, demonstrates and educates audiences and owners on historic Williams Formula 1 cars, blending technical understanding with motorsport history.
Expert Broadcaster and Author: As an analyst for Sky Sports F1, Karun broadcasts to audiences in over 60 countries, providing technical insight and commentary on racing action. He has also worked with the likes of Star Sports, BeIN Sports, BBC 5 Live Radio and Channel 4 TV. In February 2025 Karun published his first book, ‘Drive to Victory’ aimed at young readers aged 7–15. The book breaks down the complexities of Formula?1 and reflects Karun’s passion for making motorsport accessible to newcomers and inspiring the next generation of fans and participants.
Motorsport UK and FIA: Karun serves on the Board of Motorsport UK and its Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee and contributes to the FIA’s Single Seater and Drivers’ Commissions, helping shape policy, governance and inclusion in global motorsport.
Consultant and Promoter: Karun has consulted for Nissan’s GT Academy programme and worked with manufacturers including Tata and Mahindra. He continues to contribute to motorsport development initiatives internationally, including track design advisory and talent coaching.
